Our client is one of the most powerful names in financial services, providing investment banking, securities and investment management services to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and high-net-worth individuals. As part of their continued expansion, they require an experienced professional who has significant commercial and technical experience in a senior leadership role in the construction and development industry.  In partnership with senior members of the APAC Real Estate team and the other project leads, you must have the ability to lead, manage and motivate a team of construction and engineering project management professionals in an environment where winning senior level client sponsorship and consensual stakeholder engagement is key.
 
Reporting to the Regional Head of Corporate Services and Real Estate, you will lead and manage the execution of APAC’s real estate projects.  You will have complete responsibility for all aspects of development including cost, schedule, scope and quality during the design, procurement and construction of the complete range of projects including new development, engineering and architectural.  You will;


  • Lead a scalable team of external and internal project managers to manage our clients real estate projects in APAC. Manage and mentor staff to make certain that all training, resources and information are made available to them.  This along with advice, perspective and oversight would ensure success
  • Co-ordinate with other APAC project leads and counterparts in the Americas and EMEA to develop and ensure the adoption and dissemination of best practices in design, construction, procurement, infrastructure standards, workplace standards, and approach to project management
  • Build strong relationships with all contractors, consultants & external vendors, continually driving to provide commercial and innovative methods of operation across a wide range of projects (both financially and vocationally)
  • Build long term, productive relationships, and engage effectively with all key internal clients and partners. Drive consensus amongst sometimes competing requirements of clients
  • Develop and maintain a broad range of performance criteria and control mechanisms to ensure compliance with all appropriate regulations and to allow for internal and external benchmarking and performance measurement

 
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, you will have a minimum of 10 years design and construction experience in either a consulting, contracting or owners environment.  At least 5 years from in an owner’s environment would be highly desirable.  You will;


  • Have proven high level of technical and professional expertise ensuring ability to challenge with credibility the professionals within the internal team together with external vendors, consultants and other service providers
  • Be proactive and innovative, displaying the drive and energy required to meet the continuous challenges this role will present, whilst maintaining a pragmatic approach and a positive attitude
  • Be a decision-maker, highly motivated with strong business acumen and possessing first class communication, presentation skills and strategic planning skills with strong emphasis on managing by objectives and performance measurement
  • Demonstrate excellent inter-personal, people management and business skills, together with a strong desire to lead by example and a firm belief in the power of teamwork
  • Have a strong client service and relationship management outlook, with the ability to challenge and influence senior business leaders whilst being co-operative and collaborative in style
  • Be an experienced commercial manager, used to managing multiple vendors and ensuring exceptional service delivery in a demanding commercial framework
  • Geographical flexibility regarding both travel and potential relocation is an advantage
